Baked Cheese – Baked Camembert
Among all these varieties, baked Camembert stands out as a show‑stopping centerpiece. Originating from Normandy, Camembert is a soft, bloomy‑rind cheese with earthy notes. When baked, it becomes molten and creamy, perfect for dipping bread, crackers, or fruit. Preparing baked Camembert is simple if you can find puff pastry sheets in your local supermarket.
Pasti Enak Baked Camembert
1. Defrost a sheet of puff pastry that is large enough to wrap the entire camembert.
2. Place the Camembert in the middle of the sheet.
3. Fold the puff pastry around the Camembert.
4. Brush some egg wash (50% water 50% whole egg) on the puff pastry edges. This will act as a glue so the puff pastry holds togeather. Gently push the puff pastry closed around the cheese.
5. Turn the cheese over, and egg wash all exposed surfaces of the puff pastry.
6. Cut a V shape in the top of the puff pastry. (this will let the steam out when it is baked so your baked camembert does not crack open.
7. Bake in a serving dish at 225 C for 20 minutes or untill golden brown
8. If not golden brown turn oven up to 250 C and bake untill golden brown.
Serve Hot with Bread, Blanched Vegetables, Nuts, Honey and of Fruit.
